Welcome to my blog ‘Rose of the Day’. This blog started on Facebook in 2018 with a daily post looking at a particular cultivar with notes about the growth and bloom pattern plus the back story of the namesake. Some posts just cover cultivation advice, or visits to rose gardens. There was also a weekly post looking at roses in art but I have not included those posts in this blog. The daily posts continued through to the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdown in the spring of 2020. It is a mammoth commitment to research, and create a daily post so since then the posts have been rather more intermittent.
The Facebook page ‘Rose of the Day’ is still current but the older posts are not available. This is a pity hence creating this blog in order to add the older posts. I will continue to post new content on Facebook but this will be the short form with the full content on this blog.
This is a new blog as I mentioned above. I am still getting to grips with WordPress so apologies for the messy menu, I will update as my working knowledge increases.
